Happy New Year! As we head into this New Year’s weekend, I want to wish you and your family a safe and blessed time. I pray your New Year’s Eve celebrations are wonderful and filled with joy. God has given us all another wonderful year. Let 2022 be your best year yet! God has so much planned for Bonita, for you, and for all the possibilities that lay ahead!
I know that this year has not been easy. After the pandemic hit in the prior year, most people thought that 2021 would be better. The virus continues to mutate, and it seems as though we can never go back; only forward to a new way of doing life. In most measurable factors, this year has been better than 2020. We are back to in person worship and with a choir. Groups are meeting again, and we are discovering new ways to reach people through technology. In the New Year you are positioned to make enormous strides missionally for the community of Bonita. God has so much planned for this church as you continue to spread the Gospel. People are craving what we have in this church! My message this weekend will be looking at our “why” in our church. Please read Matthew 28:16-20 and let the verses soak into your heart before our time together Sunday morning. These are some of my favorite verses in scripture.
This Sunday will mark the last time that I will be serving with you. Our coffee time will be moved to an all-outdoors event. My family and I have enjoyed getting to know all of you. You have been a very welcoming and loving congregation, thank you! We are going to miss each one of you. A lot of people have said that we have been a perfect fit for this period you all are going through, however more than I can put into words, you all have been that for us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
We never know the path God has laid out for us. Having faith and taking the next step is what God asks from each one of us, me included. We do know that God goes before us and helps us along the way, so have faith. Take the next step and see. My next position will be at First UMC Naples (Off from 1st Ave Downtown). My family appreciates the opportunity to stay in SW Florida. Aspen will be able to attend preschool at the church while I work, and I will join Pastor Nancy and her staff. We are looking forward to the next step in our journey. Thank you for our time together.
I will be praying for you all and what God has planned for you in the future. May God abundantly bless you with all the hope, all the peace, all the joy and all the love that Jesus has for you. God bless you all, Happy New Year!
Thank you for everything,
Blessings, Pastor Jason
